New unemployment figures show the number of people claiming out of work benefits in February in South Ayrshire was 4,725.

February’s figure is also a 69 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2020 (2,790).
In East Ayrshire, the figure for February was 5,790 (7.6 per cent of the working age population), a 57 per cent increase on the same period in 2020 (3,685).
