A Rochdale entrepreneur has launched her own loungewear business.

Sarah Harris, 36, who runs The Hideout salon on Albert Royds Street, Rochdale, was inspired in the first lockdown to begin selling loungewear.

To top it off, five to 15% of each sale is donated to Mind, who Sarah has a partnership with, in recognition of the help and support they gave her through a difficult time.

Rein and Riot is intended for every body shape and style

Mum-of-three Sarah said that the name represents "personalities and emotions - some people hide their emotions hence 'Rein', as in restriction.

"Some others express theirs or over express theirs hence 'Riot'.

"It is an interpretation to show that underneath it all we're all the same and that's simple."

She added: "I have always wanted to do something like this and to give back to the charity.

"I was thinking of ways of doing it - in the first lockdown I didn't know which way to go.

"Loungwear was really apparent for the time - after numerous hours of research and calls, I found a manufacturer and it has taken off.

"I have three children and I can't remember the last time I properly got dressed.

"I love lounging around in my pyjamas."

Sarah's loungewear is suitable for wearing out due to its minimalist style and also for the gym.

She added: "I wear them day to day and they do look really good.

"I started thinking about doing this four years ago.

"Mind has helped me through a lot - they got me through a lot of tough times.

"I did look into clothing then but I didn't know enough, so I did a marketing course.

"I had moved away from all my family and friends - I had no-one.

"When I was struggling, Mind offered me a discrete service."

Sarah would email a member of Mind.

She said: "A lot of the time, that was the only person I would speak to.

"They understood. I felt like there was a friend and they made me feel better."

Sarah has already sold out of some Rein and Riot clothing, despite only launching her website over the weekend after selling on Facebook for two weeks.

Sarah married her husband, Christopher, 35, in 2016.

She has three sons - Liam, 12, Carson, four, and Lochlan, three.
