Arrests made after Mercedes stop in Runcorn cul-de-sac

Police made three arrests for suspected cannabis offences after pulling over a car in a suburban Runcorn cul-de-sac.

Cheshire Constabulary said officers carried out the stop check on a silver Mercedes C250 on Rosemary Avenue in Beechwood at around 2pm on Saturday, October 22.

Three men in their early 20s - two from Runcorn and one from Flintshire - were arrested on suspicion of cannabis supply.

They have since been released under investigation.

InYourArea received separate reports from members of the public of police vehicles sighted in the street.

A Cheshire police spokeswoman said: "A 21-year-old man from Maes Pennant, a 20-year-old man from Runcorn and a 22-year-old man from Runcorn were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs (cannabis).

"They have all been released under investigation.

"Enquiries in relation to this incident are under way."
