CHRISTMAS CHEER: Students enjoyed their party

A Cambridge arts centre and forest school for adults with learning disabilities recently held a Christmas party to wind down the year for its students.

Registered charity Rowan provides an arts centre and forest school for adults with learning disabilities, offering a safe, creative, and enriching environment where the arts are used as a tool to bring people together and tackle social exclusion. It develops the skills and potential of students while improving their happiness, health and wellbeing, as well as delivering much-needed respite to families and carers.

On Wednesday, December 14, Rowan's students enjoyed a Christmas party at the arts centre. It was a huge success, with games, crafting, activities, Christmas jumpers galore, a disco, lunch, a visit from Father Christmas, a quiz, plus a lot of Christmas cheer.

Thanks to the staff and volunteers who organised and ran the day, the students had a wonderful time. As well as a successful party, the charity has hit £1,255 on its virtual Christmas fundraising tree, which will continue to accept donations in the lead-up to Christmas, and will be used to support the arts centre and forest school.

The centre will be closed from Monday, December 19, until Monday, January 2, for its annual two-week Christmas break. Rowan looks forward to welcoming students back from Tuesday, January 3, 2023, and filling everyone's year with good news and wonderful events.
