Rowan's annual art exhibition celebrates 40th Anniversary
A community news update from your area
Local charity Rowan is getting ready to launch its annual art exhibition, on February 24-25, in Cambridge. The exhibition, which will be held at The Old Gym at The Leys School, will be open to the public and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase artworks.
All the money raised from art sales will go to the charity, which supports adults with learning disabilities. To mark its 40th Anniversary, the charity has launched the 'Raise the Roof for Rowan' fundraising campaign, seeking to raise funds for the replacement of the deteriorating roof at the Rowan art centre.
Entitled ‘The Journey’, the exhibition showcases the work of local artists who have produced artworks inspired by their interpretation of a journey. Every piece, whether by amateur or professional, will sell for £45.

Fundraising and events manager, Rose, said: “We can’t wait to welcome everyone to our fifth annual art exhibition. We’re always blown away by the remarkable pieces of art we receive back and this year’s theme, The Journey, has been no exception. We are especially excited as we are celebrating Rowan’s 40th anniversary this year and the exhibition has given us a chance to reflect on Rowan’s journey too.”
The exhibition, which is free to attend, will also feature a silent auction of work donated by established artists from all over the UK as well as a pop-up shop of artwork created at Rowan. Rowan’s annual art exhibition is open February 24-25, from 10am to 3pm, at The Old Gym at The Leys School, The Fen Causeway, Cambridge, CB2 7AD. Entry is free.
