The Sevenoaks RSPB Local group has finalised details of it's programme of highly appreciated zoom presentations for the next few months, remaining optimistic that they will be able to resume normal meetings and field trips in the autumn if Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
The meetings start on Thursday, April 1 at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start, with An Evening of Birdsong presented by Adrian Thomas. This promises to be a sight and sound spectacular with tips on how to identify many birds with their songs and calls.
On Thursday, May 6 at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start, the presentation will be by Mark Pearson, exploring the Bempton Cliffs, Filey Bay, a Seabird Nirvana. in Yorkshire. Mark has an extensive knowledge of the area.
The final planned Zoom meeting will be on Thursday, June 3 from 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. Alastair McKee will be presenting an Osprey in a Shopping Bag, a cryptic title for a presentation looking at how the Osprey has returned from extinction in the UK and details of it's recovery in Cumbria. The remaining question is where is the the shopping bag?
These zoom presentations are free, but the group do appreciate donations, and you can find out how to donate when you apply to join the zoom meetings at 7oaksrspb@gmail.com.
Details for any forthcoming autumn events will be released nearer the time, but in the meantime you can communicate with local bird enthusiasts at https://www.facebook.com/groups/RSPBSevenoaks/announcements.
