Shop relocates to grounds of Georgian mansion

A family run shop is relocating from Rugeley to Bishton Hall and will opens it's doors this month.

Ivy House Home & Gift joins many other local businesses that make up a collective of independent shops at the grade II* listed Georgian mansion in Colwich, Staffordshire.

Formerly based in Handsacre for around eight years, owner Jacqui Smith, pictured above, fell for the former school when visiting one day.

She said: “I came here, saw it and thought it was right. It was busy with plenty of footfall and just pulled me to be part of the community.

“It's a beautiful place to work.”

Ivy House Home & Gifts offers an abundance of unusual cards, gifts, jewellery and unique items and opens at Bishton Hall on February, Saturday 19.

Jacqui explained: “I like to stock locally made items, like my candles which are Little Haywood.

“I enjoy supporting small businesses and offering something that you can't find on the high street.”

Jacqui, who also lives in Rugeley, can’t wait to be a part of Bishton Hall.

“I walked in here and just feel like I'm part of the family. Everyone is just lovely and we're all in it together.

“The whole group offers something different, something you can't go online and push a button to buy.

“It’s part of an experience here, with the cafe, shops, the hall and gardens.

“What a place to work, to take a break and walk around the grounds to recharge and to be part of something that is going to grow into something magnificent.”

Jacqui prides herself on helping people find the right thing, going above and beyond to ensure everyone is happy, and she can’t wait to welcome customers.

The shop will be open 10am-4pm Thursday to Tuesday and closed on Wednesdays. For more information visit their Facebook page.
