Solicitors’ paw-fect way to help Support Dogs charity

A LAW firm is showing the love for assistance dogs and their impact this Valentine’s Day. Best Solicitors has teamed up with Sheffield-based charity Support Dogs to promote the importance of leaving a gift to charity in your will.

The company is offering a free will-writing service to anyone looking to write or update their will and support the charity in this way.

There will be a chance to meet some adorable wonder dogs and staff from Support Dogs when they visit Best Solicitors’ head office in the city’s West Street on Valentine’s Day.

Another sweet way that the company is supporting the charity is by having a charity cake sale on the day.

Support Dogs, which is a member of the National Free Wills Network, provides and trains assistance dogs to help autistic children and people with epilepsy or a physical disability to live safer, more independent lives.

One in three support dogs simply would not exist without the generosity of donations left in wills and legacies.

Danny Anderson, head of fundraising at Support Dogs, said: “We are so grateful to Best Solicitors for supporting us in this way – we’re two long-established local organisations working together so this is a real match made in heaven.

“These donations are vital for us to be able to continue improving the lives of more people affected by autism, epilepsy, and disability – even a donation of one percent can make a huge difference to our work.”

Anne Rogers, solicitor and director of wills and probate at Best Solicitors, said: “Best Solicitors are very invested in the well-being of our community and committed to making a positive impact. We appreciate how important it is to support and give back to our local charities who get limited support.

“Last year the wills and probate team at Best Solicitors took part in the Support Dogs charity netball event. They were really inspired by the dogs and their abilities to support the vulnerable on all different levels.

"We wanted to raise awareness and raise money for Support Dogs and this is why we have organised a will-writing event.”

Support Dogs will be at Best’s Sheffield branch from 10am-2pm on Wednesday, February 14.
