South Ayrshire debating pupils discuss private education in competition

Brainy pupils put their debating skills to the test when appearing at the finals of a tough competition.

Following their success in the local and district heats of RotaryGBI Schools Debating Competition, the team from Kyle Academy- made up of pupils Sophie Powell, Emma Kay, Lucy Assur- represented Rotary in Alloway at the finals, discussing their subject of private education.

The girls posed the question ‘Should Private Schools be Abolished?’, before delivering their presentation in front of the audience.

Although not gaining a place, they gave a spirited and commended performance and will entertain the Club at their meeting on Monday, June 12 at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum.
