The winning and commended entries were announced on April 24 at The Trades Hall in Glasgow City Centre
A budding photographer has been commended in a national photography competition.
Belmont Academy pupil Annabel Lightfoot was commended for her image titled ‘Abandonment’ in the secondary-age category of the Scottish Civic Trust My Place Photography Competition 2023.
The competition is a Scotland-wide contest for young people aged 4-18 that encourages young people to use photography to explore the buildings, architecture and archaeology in the places they live.
The theme for this year’s competition, which is supported by Historic Environment Scotland and Jessops, was My Place, My Space, My Story.
Annabel’s photo shows an abandoned brick building with rusted support beams covered by overgrown plants.
