A local foodbank received a large donation of Easter eggs over the weekend to help bring joy to the local community.
Southport Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust which is a network of foodbanks that work to put an end to UK hunger and poverty and is operated by Compassion Acts in Southport, Merseyside,
The eggs were donated by local house builder Barrat Homes North West.
Richard Owens, CEO of Compassion Acts, said: "Donations like this bring a little bit of cheer to our clients at Easter and all year round.
"Thank you on behalf of all the people who use the foodbank here in Southport who come from a variety of backgrounds- in work, self-employed, on benefits – but have the need for some extra help in a crisis."
Robert Holbrook, Managing Director of Barratt Homes North West, said: "Southport Foodbank is working hard to support their clients and volunteers, and we are happy to support them with a donation of Easter eggs.
"We wish them the best of luck for the upcoming months, and in difficult times like these we’re encouraging more people to support their local community."
