VOLUNTEERS WANTED: Volunteers at the Snowdonia Trail Series

Ditch the ‘New Year New Me’ craze in 2023 and do something truly worthwhile for yourself!

Every year we make New Years Resolutions, only for 80% of them to fail in the first month! This year, why not do something different, drastic even! If you’re looking for a new challenge or would like to give something back to your local community, look no further!

St David’s Hospice are starting 2023 with a variety of opportunities to join the fantastic charity. With job vacancies and the opportunity to join the band of incredible volunteers, there’s something for everyone!

Put yourself at the heart of the patient care journey, with a variety of clinical jobs in Llandudno and Anglesey. From assessing and supporting the complex needs of patients as a support worker, to providing care and compassion as qualified staff nurses and health care support workers, there are part-time, full-time and bank positions available.

The opportunity to join St David’s Hospice’ fundraising team doesn’t come around very often, but the team is growing! Whether you’re commercially minded and target driven, a tech savvy individual who loves data processing or someone who wants to help grow and improve the events, the fundraising team are hiring!

If you’re someone with great, creative ideas on how to move the Hospice in a new direction in terms of communication, branding and social media presence, the role of head of marketing might just be the one for you!

No charity can function without its loyal volunteers, and St David’s Hospice is no exception! If you would like to be part of a fantastic team, meet new people, develop new skills, and support a great cause, why not start now? Whether you’re a keen gardener, a dab hand on the coffee machine or a shop guru, there are roles suitable for everyone. Giving up just a couple of hours will go a long way to ensure that the Hospice continues to provide the best level of care.

FUN RUN: Last year's participants 

The annual Nick Beer Memorial Race is back once again in 2023, and participants are already signing up.

Organised by the North Wales Road Runners and Always Aim High Events, the 10km road race will see participants start their run on the iconic promenade in Llandudno. They will then continue around the magnificent Great Orme, before returning to the promenade to run through the race arch as they finish. The route is both challenging and spectacular as you will see the stunning views of Snowdonia, Anglesey and beyond.

St David’s Hospice will again be hosting the 1km fun run which will take place on Sunday, February 12 at 11.30am. The fun run is a flat, 1000-meter route along the promenade making it fairly easy and accessible to all. Participants can run, jog or walk the race and go entirely at their own pace.The cost to enter the Fun Run is £5 per fun runner, where each participant will receive a medal and wristband to acknowledge their support. The Fun Run is perfect for families who are looking for something to get them out of the house.

St David’s Hospice Fundraising Manager, Adrian Owen said, “We’re proud and excited to be organising the Nick Beer Fun Run again this year.Every year we see more and more participants and it’s refreshing to see so many children taking part with the biggest smiles on their faces as they cross the finishing line.

“I’d like to thank the North Wales Road Runners Club for including the fun run in the itinerary for the day and for their continued support over the years. Let’s make 2023 one to remember!”
