St Enodoc Golf Club to entice players back with new videos on Church Course
St Enodoc Golf Club has launched short and sweet tip off videos for its most famous course to entice players back
A north Cornwall golf club is looking to entice players back with a series of new insight videos.
St Enodoc Golf Club in Rock, Cornwall has worked with advertising agency Seven Iron to produce short and quick videos for players that will give them the tips they need ahead of playing the Church Course, which is regarded as one of the finest championship links in England.
Simon Greatorex, general manager at the club said the speed knowledge video offers golfers the chance to take a look at the Church Course on their mobile devices before playing it, replacing the need to carry around a strokesaver or watch lengthy drone footage prior to arriving at the course.
In just two minutes, the video will aim to give a more indepth insight into the course than the aerial views of the course created by drones by highlighting some of the unique characteristics of the course, its key dangers and scoring opportunities.
Thanks to comments from the club’s professionals and club members, golfers can glean vital insider information on how to play each hole quickly and easily whilst video footage sweeps over the full 18 holes of the course identifying spots that require particular attention when playing.
He said: “From experience we have learnt that golfers find drone footage just a bit too long and offer little information over and above images, so they arrive at the golf course with no real knowledge of what to expect while the speed knowledge video fills this gap with an all-encompassing overview in a quick and concise manner.
“The sound bite format is both engaging and dynamic and it’s easy for golfers to access via their mobiles as they step onto the first tee, giving them a good idea of what they can expect from the course while also gaining some insider course knowledge, essential when making your way around the Church Course.”
The Church Course has regularly appeared at the top of national and international golf rankings and was recently awarded 51st position in Golf World Magazine’s Top 100 Greatest Courses on the planet that you can play.
The golf club is expected to reopen its doors on Monday March 29 with online booking being available from March 22.
Mr Greatorex added: “The advice received by the management committee is that timings are specifically intended to prevent the spike of cases seen when the rules were relaxed for the Christmas period.
“By and large all of our members have scrupulously respected the Governments previous bio-security requirements and we know that this will continue. In particular we hope that the “minimise travel” rules for the short period of two weeks until April 12, will be observed.”
Dave Bedwood, creative director at Seven Iron, said: “It has been a dream ticket to have St Enodoc as our launch video as it is one of the most revered links in England and at the same time extremely photogenic.
"We are very lucky to be able to have this iconic course to use as a prototype for other clubs to take a look at as it showcases our speed knowledge concept extremely well.”
