At the end of March, 100 dance students from St Ivo Academy will bring their annual dance performance, Ivolution, back to a live audience for the first time in two years.

St Ives performing arts students in Years 7 through to 13 will perform the production at The Burgess Hall, which incorporates a range of dance styles including hip hop, contemporary, commercial, ballet and jazz.

Performances range from set repertoire to staff and student choreographies and BTEC assessment pieces.

After a year where dance students have had only their families to perform to at home, these students have been busy since the start of the academic year rehearsing their dances during their extra-curricular clubs as well as during their BTEC lessons ready to give their best performance yet.

Year 13 student Stanley Smith said: “It’s been a joy working with other dancers and our teachers to create a performance that we are proud to share with friends, family and members of the public. We hope that they are as excited as we are to finally be back to performing after two long years.”

Lindsay McAdam, head of dance at St Ivo Academy said: “We are so excited to be bringing our annual production of Ivolution back to the stage.

"These last two years have made us realise just how valuable dance and the performing arts are to our lives and we cannot wait to show our live audience what we’ve been working on since September.

"The students have been fantastic to work with. We are so lucky to have so many talented young dancers at St Ivo. This promises to be our best show yet and we hope family, friends and our wider community can join us.”

Tickets for the long-awaited show can be purchased online from TicketSource.
