Stafford businessman releases ‘rags-to-riches’ book to help others

Stafford-based Ayo Olaseinde went from sleeping on sofas to running a multi-million pound company.

And he has now written a book called Born with the Power to Win detailing how he did it.

Born with the Power to Win is about a man named Michael. It outlines how he managed to overcome obstacles, challenges, and failures that we all have had at some point in our lives and turn his life around by following 10 steps.

The story is loosely based on the true experiences of Ayo’s inspiring life. Born in London in humble surroundings to Nigerian and German parents, Ayo struggled at school with undiagnosed ADD.

Always last in his class, Ayo’s self-esteem and confidence suffered and he worried that he would never make a success of his life.

Ayo found himself homeless and penniless at 22 and sleeping on a friend’s sofa. But one day he applied for a job in sales. It turned out to be Ayo’s forte.

He excelled, smashing sales records in his division. Fast forward to today and Ayo is the President of the multinational global sales company Saladmaster which turns over hundreds of millions of dollars a year, winning a number of awards for his leadership.

And how did he do it? With hard work, ‘believing in himself’ and asking himself, ‘Why not me?’

Born with the Power to Win is an allegory of how we all have the power to make a better life for ourselves.

Ayo shares his story in hopes of inspiring others to realise that anybody can achieve success if they are prepared to do the things that successful people do.

He said: “I'm exceptionally pleased with the combination of the book and the workbook together as I believe it gives people the tools to take action and make plans.

“But it is hard for me to say how pleased I am with the book, for main my intention was to create real-life situations using six very different characters to represent a cross-section of society to connect with people to show them how they sabotage their own lives unconsciously.

“Also, give them tools to free themselves to escape the imprisonment and restrictions they believe they have - so that they too can live the life that they want.

“They say that you only live once – well you only die once, you live every day. I hope that after reading my book, they make the decision that today is the first day of the rest of their lives and that they will live it positively and to its fullest potential.

“They can use the complimentary workbook to help them take control and make a blueprint to refer to.”

Born with the Power to Win is available online from retailers, including Amazon, and can be ordered from all good bookstores costing £9.99 for paperback and £3.99 for an eBook.
