A Stafford based charity are calling on local supporters to help raise funds by taking part in an exciting range of challenges in 2022.

All the challenges will raise money for Katharine House Hospice and offer experiences of a lifetime and include a tandem Skydive, Snowdon Sunrise Walk and a charity Mountain Bike Ride around Kilimanjaro!

#TeamKHH Skydivers will take the plunge from 10,000 feet above Nottingham Airfield on June 18. They’ll enjoy the exhilaration and adrenaline rush of a tandem skydive - the easiest and most popular form of skydive - while a qualified British Parachute Association Instructor does all the hard work.

On July 17 participants of the Snowdon Sunrise Walk will experience a climb to Wales’ highest peak through relative darkness with the support of qualified Mountain Guides. As they ascend the darkness will lift in time to relax and enjoy a spectacular sunrise over Snowdonia, before they return to Llanberis for a hearty and well deserved Welsh breakfast!

Those who opt for the Kilimanjaro Mountain Bike Challenge on September 17-25 will ride 286km over five days across the open African savannah and into the rainforest. There will be an opportunity to spot wildlife such as giraffes, gazelles and zebra and spend a night in a Masai village!

KHH community and partnership fundraiser Andrea Pugh said: “We are delighted to offer a range of exciting challenges this year.

“We really do have something for everyone – whether they’re looking for the ultimate thrill and adrenaline rush, to mark an event, new start or special memory or an exotic and physically challenging experience.”

One person taking part in the skydive is Vicky Clarke from Stafford based Insurance Company Bayliss and Cooke.

She said: “I am delighted to be taking part in the Skydive challenge to support the hospice and help them raise funds for their patients and families. They are a very worthy cause and touch the lives of so many local people.”

If you're interested in the skydive you only have until the end of March to sign up.

Katharine House Hospice provides free care and support for adults and their families who are coping with progressive illness across Mid-Staffordshire.

It relies upon the kindness of the local community to help generate over 75 per cent of the funds needed to run its vital range of services.

Further information on any of the challenges can be found on their website - where you can also sign up - or contact the KHH Fundraising Team on email fundraising@khhospice.org.uk or by calling 01785 270808.
