Starbucks recognition for Reading disability charity
Starbucks recognises Reading disability charity with nomination in national campaign
Mencap Reading Coffee Club, a social group from Reading, Berkshire that aims to reduce isolation and loneliness for vulnerable 15 to 18-year-old adults with learning disabilities, joined Starbucks Oracle store team in Reading to start raising awareness of its nomination in this year’s ‘Cheer for Good’.
Marie-Claire Dillon, fundraising manager at Mencap, said: ‘We are delighted that Starbucks is supporting us through this year’s Cheer for Good charity initiative. It means so much to us that a global company is supporting local charities like ours, as we always struggle to fund our services.”

Cheer for Good celebrates the work of 210 community charities across England, Scotland and Wales with Starbucks donating £150,000 to local causes that are important to the communities that Starbucks serves.
Friends, the public and charity supporters are encouraged to ‘cheer’ on Twitter to help the charities receive top grants of £2,000 using the hashtag #CheerforGood and the charity Twitter handle by midnight on 20 December 2017. The leading 30 charities whose supporters ‘cheer’ the loudest, will receive a top grant of £2,000, with all charities receiving £500 for taking part.
Lend a cheer by tweeting for the charity using the hashtag and the charity twitter handle or by following and sharing their dedicated charity Neighbourly page.
