Tandoori restaurant in Croydon donates 150 meals to hospital workers

Staff members of Chat House Tandoori and their friends and family have delivered 150 meals to health service workers in the area with the support of the Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Humayun Kabir.

On Thursday, May 7, 50 meals were delivered to the Purley War Memorial Hospital and a further 100 were delivered to Croydon University Hospital as the restaurant payed its thanks to staff on the frontline during the Covid-19 pandemic.

150 dishes were donated by the restaurant

A spokesperson for the restaurant said: “What a day. Arrived at the kitchen at 9am whilst observing our monthly fast, Ramadan.

Purley War Memorial Hospital received 50 meals from the restaurant

"Freshly cooked chicken biryani by our chef and chana saag aloo curry prepared by our wonderful chef and sous chef.

"Voluntary help by friends and family packaging and organising everything. Delivery to both hospitals with support by the Mayor Humayun Kabir himself.”

Croydon University Hospital is located in Thornton Heath, London, and Purley War Memorial Hospital is located in Purley, London.
