The Orchestra of Scottish Opera returns to Ayr

The Orchestra of Scottish Opera is making a welcome return to Ayr Town Hall next month with conductor Taavi Oramo- who is predicted to be the next young Finnish conductor to rise to international acclaim.

The Orchestra, who last came to Ayr in February 2020, will play Nielsen’s Helios Overture, followed by his Flute Concerto with principal flute soloist Eilidh Gillespie in the first half, and Sibelius’ Symphony No. 5 after the interval.

As the second event in the Golden Jubilee Year for Ayr Arts Guild, invitation has been extended to 100 young musicians and parents to see and hear their first live concert by a professional orchestra.

The event takes place on Saturday, February 25 at 7.30pm.

Advance tickets (from £3 - £25) are available from the Gaiety Box Office (open Tuesday to Friday 10am - 4pm, Saturday 10am - 1pm) by phoning: 01292 288235.

The concert is supported financially by Ayr Arts Guild and Destination South Ayrshire.
