Thousands raised for Ayrshire cancer charity's thanks to Tree of Remembrance
The Tree of Remembrance was a poignant way to honour lost loved ones
Three cancer charities have benefitted from a cash boost thanks to the generosity of Ayrshire folks during the Christmas 2022 season.
Ayr Rotary Club donated an incredible £1800 each to Whiteleys Retreat, Ayrshire Cancer Support and The Ayrshire Hospice thanks to their Tree of Remembrance project.
Monies were collected at the Tree of Remembrance during December, which was held at the Fish Cross on the High street.
Residents and visitors were invited to remember their loved ones in a simple yet poignant way in the midst of the Christmas rush, by writing a short message about them on a label, which was then tied to the tree.
People then provided a donation alongside their message.
The three charities were presented with cheques by members of Ayr Rotary Club.
