Tickets on sale for "spectacular" Southport Air Show

Tickets are now on sale for a famous local air show.

Southport Air Show will see the skies above Southport, Merseyside fill with aerobatics, historical aircraft and fast jets.

On the ground, there will be bungee trampolines, replica aircraft, flight simulators and a range of stalls.

Councillor Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council's Labour cabinet member for regeneration and skills, said: "Southport Air Show is a hugely popular event that attracts thousands of people to the town with many of them staying over to enjoy both spectacular days.

"Sadly, we haven’t been able to hold it for two years during the Covid pandemic.

"I am delighted that along with our tourism partners we are bringing it back for summer 2022 with some new features such as the new Pier Viewing area."

The event will take place from Saturday, July 9 until Sunday, July 10.

For the first time, general admission for under-16s is free.

Early-bird tickets cost £8 for adults. People can take advantage of early-bird prices until Friday, March 18.

Also new for 2022 are exclusive tickets for the Pier Viewing area where visitors can watch the show from the best seats in the house.
