Pupils from two Learning Academy Partnerships schools were invited to take part in an exciting online gymnastics festival.

Year 6 children took part in a full day of movement and gymnastics in a virtual event organised by the P.E. department at The Spires College in Torquay, Devon.

Designed to help kids stay active while also learning more about the sport, pupils from both Ilsham Church of England Academy and Warberry Church of England Academy joined other children across the Trust to practise their moves.

The children went over a range of key skills while earning points towards medals and were also given the opportunity to create their own gymnastic routines to showcase what they had learnt.

In order to ensure that as many pupils could attend as possible, Miss Worden from Spires was responsible for beaming the displays into all of the school halls.

The children really enjoyed taking part in the festival and the academies were really excited to see other Year 6 pupils from across the Trust taking part together.

Tracey Cleverly, trust lead at the Learning Academy Partnership, said: "The gymnastics festival was a fantastic success and such a fun and exciting way to encourage our pupils to get active.

"Each of our academies is extremely grateful to Spire College for the wonderful session and the opportunity to bring our pupils together.

“Across our Trust, our academies are dedicated to working as a collective to create unique opportunities for pupils to become well-rounded individuals."
