Town council seeks residents’ views on climate emergency

Northam residents have until the end of the month to offer their thoughts on the challenges of climate change.

Following its declaration of a climate  emergency last year Northam Town Council formed a climate emergency  committee, which has produced a Climate Emergency Action Plan.

This includes projects aimed at  reducing carbon emissions in the council’s buildings and operations and  also significantly cutting carbon emissions in Northam parish.

To help the council achieve these aims  it is circulating a climate survey to all parishioners which seeks their  thoughts and ideas about meeting the huge challenges of climate change.

The council says it hopes that further  engagement with the public will take place through public meetings when  the Covid-19 situation allows.

The final date to return the survey is Sunday, February 28.
