Triple Jumper Nathan Fox joins Seymour Leisure Centre as it organises free community open day to celebrate £1.7m refurbishment project
On Saturday 27th January Seymour Leisure Centre, which is operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Westminster City Council, is opening its doors to the community for a free open day which will run from 10am until 4pm.
All members of the local community are invited come down and celebrate the redevelopment of the centre. Triple Jumper and Everyone Active Sporting Champions Athlete Nathan Fox will be in attendance, joining in on the day of fun filled activities.
Thanks to investment from Everyone Active and Westminster City Council, Seymour Leisure Centre now boasts a new group cycle studio, group exercise studio and extended gym facilities. As well as being extended, the gym facilities have been kitted out with state of the art Technogym equipment. It boasts an impressive cardio range with stair climbers, treadmills, cross trainers and Skillmills as well as Concept rowers and Watt bikes. The new weights area includes two Olympic power racks, Olympic benches, squat rack and an extensive range of free weights and machines.
The centre has also benefitted from a new reception area, new male and female changing rooms, an upgraded sports hall and an upgraded relaxing health suite complete with sauna, steam room and heated loungers.
The free community day will allow members of the local community to come and try the brand-new facilities and enjoy a wide range of free activities. All led by qualified instructors, activities on offer will include group exercise classes, climbing taster sessions and Bollywood dance classes. Everyone Active will also be running family sport sessions in the fun zone such as athletics, football and tennis.
Attendees will also have completely free access to use the gym and the swimming pool. For those wanting to break a sweat, Everyone Active’s team of personal trainers will be setting gym challenges as well as offering free taster sessions.
The day will offer something for everyone. Younger members of the community will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities including parachute games, multi-sport sessions and use of a bouncy castle and can even have their faces painted.
