ADVENT FUNDRAISERS: Ursuline Prep pupils before Christmas

Pupils at Ursuline Preparatory School spent advent thinking about charities and people less fortunate than them.

Every year, the school in Warley holds a Christmas collection. Each child is given a small cardboard box and asked to collect any spare change that they may have.

The collection is a great way to raise money for charity and results in a collective effort from the pupils.

This year, it was decided that the school would share the collection between three different charities.

These chosen charities were The Children’s Society, Brentwood Catholic Children’s Society and Isaac’s House, three charities which operate in the community and need constant support.

The Upper 2 children (Year 6) worked tirelessly to count all of the money donated and worked well as a team for an important cause.

A spokesperson said: "As a school, we are very proud to announce that we raised £1,782 collectively. What a great effort from everyone involved.

"We very much look forward to presenting each of these charities with their donations and hope they find the money helpful."
