A community news update from your area
The director of a leading home care provider is set to embark on a formidable journey up Britain's highest peak, Ben Nevis, next month. Visha Keshwala, director of Caremark Hinckley, Bosworth, Blaby and Leicester City will begin the climb on Saturday, June 29.
This expedition is not just a test of endurance for Visha but a powerful and personal initiative to raise funds and awareness for Cancer Research UK, spotlighting the determined spirit of those living with cancer. In her role at Caremark, Visha sees the profound effects cancer has on individuals and families daily.
Her leadership in providing compassionate and personalised care helps many lead independent, dignified lives despite their health challenges. The climb symbolises a broader commitment by Visha and her team to support not only the physical health but also the emotional and mental wellbeing of their customers.
Visha said: "Every day at Caremark, we witness the strength of those living with cancer and the difference that dedicated support and care can make. It inspires us to push beyond limits, which is what I aim to do by climbing Ben Nevis.
"Cancer is one of those diseases that everyone is touched by at some point in their lives, whether directly or through loved ones. For me, taking on this climb is a testament to the resilience seen in our customers, their families, and the broader community.
"By supporting me in this challenge, you'll be helping Cancer Research advance crucial research that one day might eliminate the scourges of cancer."
People are encouraged to support Visha's efforts by sponsoring her climb through her fundraising page at fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/vishas-giving-page. All proceeds will directly benefit Cancer Research UK, fuelling their vital work in cancer research and the hope of making significant advances in prevention, treatment, and care.
