West Lancashire council tax rise confirmed as authorities agree budgets

Council tax in West Lancashire is to rise by around 4% in the coming year meaning a £77 increase for Band D homes.

The majority of that increase will go towards Lancashire County Council, which receives the vast majority of the funds generated.

In total, the county council is to take £1,456 of that amount, which amount to a rise of £56 compared to last year.

Meanwhile, West Lancashire Borough Council, which agreed a smaller percentage increase, will see its share go up by £5 to £213.39. Lancashire Police Authority is to receive £226 and Lancashire Combined Fire Authority £72.

Those living in Band A-C homes will pay a lesser amount, while those in Band E-H houses will pay more.
