An opticians and audiologists in Whitstable, Kent will donate 20 boxes of smiles to support Ukrainian children.
The Specsavers store got behind an appeal from Kent County Council and filled the deocrated boxes with items for children in specific age groups.
The items will be sent to the Ukrainian border and neighbouring countries to support the relief effort and contain a mixture of toys, bubbles, sweet treats, torches, colouring books and pencils, gloves, socks, baby clothes, toiletries, wipes and headphones.
Siobhan Fennell, ophthalmic director at Specsavers Whitstable, said: "It’s impossible not to watch the current situation in Ukraine unfold without feeling helpless. We decided we wanted to do something to help children who are experiencing a really frightening time.
"While we can only help in a small way, we hope that our boxes will bring a little bit of joy to these children at a dark moment, and also help replace some of the items they may have been forced to leave behind. We’d like to thank our whole team for being so generous."
Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February, millions of people have been displaced and many have become refugees.
