A school in Yardley, in the West Midlands, will soon be able to provide its students with breakfast thanks to a national funding programme.

Cockshut Hill School, which is part of the Summit Learning Trust, have secured funding from the National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP) to provide bagel breakfasts to their students in the morning.

The National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP) is funded by the Department for Education and delivered by Family Action to support schools in England to provide children with a healthy breakfast at the start of the school day. The school hope to launch the programme fully as soon as possible after half term.

Jason Bridges, principal at Cockshut Hill, said: “I am delighted that Cockshut Hill School have secured funding from the National Schools Breakfast Programme.

“We know that a healthy school breakfast sets children up to succeed and gives them what they need to ensure they can concentrate fully on their learning.”
